Lift the flap experiments

These photos show my first experiment with using flaps in my work. I decided to use two different pages of my sketchbook to create this effect. Instead of mixing both the fossils using bright colours mixed with the earth tones I decided to hide them under flaps. Using flaps in my design will be very engaging for aa child to "dig up" their own fossils in this folded format. On the inside I will write pieces of information for children to read. I experimented with cutting out a circle and cutting out a square for the design. I think that even though the square is easier to cut, circles will look more appealing on the page. Moving forward I could even make the 'lift the flaps' out of the shape of the fossils the children are digging up.
